Hello,
Would you be able circulate details of the the following upcoming posts at Aston.
Many thanks
Karen
The Sociology and Policy subject group is looking to appoint up to 3 Teaching Associates from 1st September 2018. The posts are to provide teaching and administrative cover for members of Sociology and Policy staff on maternity leave, replacement teaching for a Horizon 2020 project and Visiting Professorships. The posts are:
1 full-time (1 September 2018 to 31 July 2019) to cover teaching in research methods, social divisions, race and racisms and racism, class and gender.
1 part-time (0.8) (1 September 2018 to 31 July 2019) to cover teaching in introductory policy analysis, government and management, ageing and corporate power.
1 part-time (0.8) (1 September 2018 to 31 July 2019) to cover teaching in social theory (introductory and advanced) and global society.
Some redistribution of modules across the posts may be possible, depending on expertise and experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and rapidly expanding Sociology and Policy subject group within the School of Languages and Social. It is therefore anticipated that the successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching to a high standard, or that they can demonstrate this potential. This should include, appropriate to stage of career, teaching experience including lectures and seminars, teaching large and small groups, and experience of setting and marking assignments and examinations. Ideally, it may include experience of module design and implementation. Interest in and experience of innovative teaching and assessment practices would also be most welcome. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake administrative responsibilities, again appropriate to their stage of career. The Sociology and Policy group is keen that the successful candidates are committed to further strengthening the group’s collegial ethos.
