Also, as I'm sure you all know, I tend to share a lot of things like this across lists.  I've just been through some online training from my uni about the new data protection act, and I'm thinking that the best thing for me, from tomorrow when the new act comes in, will be for me only to share postings from one list to another if the person posting it says that they want it to be shared widely or among our networks - this would then count as consent to share personal data, as far as I can see.  If the original poster doesn't say that, I'm going to try to remember not to share posts across lists (it's almost a reflex now, so I'll have to try to remember).  I know my posting less often will be a relief to some (smile), but apologies to those who've told me they find this sharing helpful.  I'll still share across lists when the poster gives permission.  (This is only my interpretation of what's lawful though - I'm not in a position to give anyone legal advice.)

Next week on Thursday, 31st May, ILAS in collaboration with James Esson (Loughborough) is hosting a workshop on the Black Atlantic Footballer at Senate House, University of London. The workshop will particularly explore aspects of representation and mobilities, and offers a space for thinking of points of correlation and departure in the study of football in Brazil, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe.
