Job Opportunity at The National Archives
Customer Insight Officer
Domesday Book. Shakespeare's will. Tweets from Downing Street. War time records. These are just some of the inspiring items amongst the 11 million held by The National Archives. With a collection like this - one of the largest in the world - we want to make sure that we share it with as wide an audience as possible.
Responding to our Archives Inspire business plan, we are increasing our public engagement through an enhanced programme of events, exhibitions and digital outreach. We are also reimagining our public spaces at our Kew site. To support these efforts we need to gain a deeper understanding of our current audiences and also of our potential new audiences.
About the role
Customer research and insight is well-established in the organisation, however the demands are increasing as the function evolves. As Customer Insight Officer, you will proactively work with a range of stakeholders to manage a programme of customer and market research to evaluate existing services and inform the development of our activities.
About You
You will be knowledgeable in the field of research, with demonstrable experience of designing and delivering a programme of quantitative and qualitative market research (either client or agency). You will possess strong analytical thinking and experience of principles, design and practice relating to data tools and analysis. You will be confident at communicating and presenting to a range of audiences. A strong team player with a can-do collaborative style, you will have excellent planning and coordination skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects and coordinate resources.
Ideally you will also have experience and understanding of customer data analysis and data protection principles, backed up with a qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Psychology, Market Research) and a strong interest in or experience of the cultural and/or heritage sectors.
Join us here in beautiful Kew, just 10 minutes' walk from the Overground and Underground stations, and you can expect an excellent range of benefits. They include a pension, flexible working and discounts with local businesses (e.g. beauty salons and bars). We also offer wellbeing resources (e.g. on-site therapists) and have an on-site gym, restaurant, shop and staff bar.
