POPULATION WELLBEING AND ENVIRONMENT RESEARCH LAB (POWERLAB)

SCHOOL OF HEALTH AND SOCIETY, FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES



2 x Fixed-Term appointments (4 years)



Salary Details:

Level B: $98,019 - $113,353 + 17% Superannuation

Level C: $119,275 - $134,649 + 17% Superannuation



Work with an established group of epidemiologists, statisticians, spatial data scientists and quantitative social scientists who analyse large sources of complex hierarchical data (e.g. Medicare data, cohort studies, hospital administrative data).



The goal of the PowerLab (Population Wellbeing and Environment Research Lab) is to enhance understandings of how people and equity orientated changes in our urban environments can enable population wellbeing through supporting mental and physical health across the life course. The Data Scientists / Spatial Data Scientists will have advanced skills in programming and Geographic Information Systems (GIS); significant experience in applying programming languages to manage and analyse large datasets within relevant software; and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.



You will have the opportunity to lead methodological research that contributes to and enhances the PowerLab's two major research themes and provide consultation and professional development activities to support the growth of big data research across UOW.
