  *   To determine how best to collect and collate the relevant health and air quality data and define infrastructural requirements for developing appropriate systems in Ireland with capacity to interrogate routine health service data for associations between health and air;
  *   To perform systematic reviews and meta-analyses of current literature on air quality and specific health outcomes;
  * To identify gaps in Irish air and health data holdings and collection systems with respect to effective linkage.
Dr Éilis O’Reilly, Dr Claire Buckley, Dr Stig Hellebust, and other subject specialists, as appropriate, will supervise the PhD.

The Environmental Research Institute (ERI) is a flagship research institute at University College Cork, Ireland (UCC) that carries out inter-disciplinary research in the broad Environmental, Marine and Energy area. The mission of the ERI is to generate new research knowledge for the understanding and protection of our natural environment and develop technologies, tools and services to facilitate a transformation to a low carbon and resource efficient society.
