Oxford Vaccine Group, CCVTM, Churchill Hospital, Oxford
Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 p.a.
The Oxford Vaccine group is based within the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Oxford and carries out research of major national and international importance in the field of infection and immunology. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Medical Statistician to support multiple studies including TB diagnostic studies, epidemiological surveillance programmes, immunological studies and clinical trials of vaccine effectiveness. You will play a key role within the Oxford Vaccine Group contributing to the analysis of existing datasets, the design and conduct of clinical trials and preparation of new clinical trial research proposals.
The ideal candidate will have PhD or postgraduate qualifications in statistics/epidemiology or equivalent; an interest in clinical trials; and the communication, teamwork and time-management skills needed for working in large interdisciplinary teams on multiple projects.
We would prefer to make appointments at Grade 7, however, in the event that no suitable candidates come forward, we also have flexibility to make an appointment at Grade 6 (£28,098 - £33,518 p.a.) with suitably adjusted responsibilities. Therefore, potential candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not consider themselves to meet all inclusion criteria.
