Dear list members,
Please forward this email to your Ph.D. students and any students in your
department who think may be interesting in attending.
Here is your final reminder for the early bird registration deadline for
the Research Students' Conference in probability and statistics 2018 held
in Sheffield between 24th-27th July. Registration will increase by £20 on
June 1st and close entirely on June 30th. Information on the RSC can be
found on our website rsc2018.co.uk, here you can also register and read
details on abstract submission.
The RSC is a platform for early career researchers to present their work to
their peers and network with future collaborators. Every student attending
will be given the opportunity to present in the form of a talk, poster or
both. The plenary speakers for this years conference are:
Professor Peter Diggle
<http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/fhm/about-us/people/peter-diggle> -- Horses for
courses: empirical or mechanistic modelling for spatio-temporal point
process data.
Professor Richard Everson
<http://emps.exeter.ac.uk/computer-science/staff/reverson> -- To average or
optimise?
Dr Cécile Mailler <http://people.bath.ac.uk/cdm37/> -- Pólya urns: a
journey in discrete probability.
Professor Ruth King <http://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/~rking33/> -- It’s as easy
as counting 1, 2, 3. Or is it?
We hope to meet you all here in July and find out what you are working on.
All the best,
RSC 2018 Committee

Kind Regards,
