Dear SPMers,
I was hoping someone could help me with the following issue.
I have recently recorded functional and structural data from a patient with a mental implant in the face/mouth region. This created large artifacts in the EPI images and to a much lesser extent in the T1 scan.
Because of this artifact, part of the prefrontal cortex and temporal poles are missing in the functional images. I've followed the standard pre-processing steps, including co-registration to the T1 scan, segmentation and normalization. However, normalization, and bringing it to MNI space, just doesn't seem to work properly. I suppose because the anterior commissure is missing in the functional scans. Even co-registration to its own anatomical it's not ideal.
Would anyone have a suggestion? Do you think there's any hope of analyzing brain activity in MNI space?
Any advice would be welcomed.
I am happy to share a screenshot of the images privately if it might help.
many thanks
Ruben
