Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in cognitive
neuroscience at the Department of Psychology and Sports Science,
University of Giessen, Germany. The position is available from 1 June
2018 (starting date is flexible) until December 2021 and is partly
funded by the project grant “The interaction of visual and motivational
salience in natural-scene perception”. In agreement with current

The project will investigate the influence of motivational and
perceptual factors on category learning and reward learning using fMRI.
The department offers a research-dedicated 3T MRI scanner with
eye-tracking and peripheral physiology equipment. The project is part of
the Collaborative Research Centre SFB/TRR 135 under the umbrella theme
“Cardinal mechanisms of perception: Prediction, valuation,

Centre offers a creative, cooperative environment uniting leading
experts in vision research.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and
analyzing fMRI data using computational models of learning and
decision-making, writing scientific papers and teaching in biological
psychology. We encourage research visits in collaborating research
groups abroad (Princeton University, PI: Yael Niv).
