Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Eye condition requiring adjustments/support
Looking please for some advice.
A have a relatively young client who has had a corneal graft as a result of a degenerate eye condition. At present sight is very variable - still recovering after a number of complications. Unclear to which sight will improve. Not yet done a vision test with them but this is planned.
They work in a lab doing a range of work - inputting results (so a lot of VDU work) and also transferring blood from bottles for testing which requires use of a pipette. Both eyes are affected.
He has fallen/had accidents and it is significantly affecting his confidence.
Obviously Access to Work may be a consideration if we assess him as unable to continue without a helper at work.
Any thoughts appreciated/organisations you have used that you have found helpful.
Kind regards, and thank you in advance
