Good afternoon all you fine folk out there.
Does anyone have any tips on how to best take a security deposit for iPads or similar devices loaned out free of charge in museums/galleries?
We're looking to pilot a free guided tour (featuring Augmented Reality) using bespoke handheld devices.
My preference is to loan these out from our shop and get a credit card 'swipe' from the visitor as a safety deposit (Similar to what they do in hotels - a non purchase transaction). Are there any PCI, or other issues around this? Does anyone know?
We don't envisage people would want to leave their driving license or passport or credit card as a physical deposit and need to make is as easy for everyone involved!
Maybe we could get the units fitted with a proximity alarm, but this is extra kit and cost for a shoestring/non-existant budget.
Any help gratefully received.
Diolch/Thank you
Graham
