Bridgwater and Taunton College are currently recruiting a Subject External Examiner for the subject: MEDIA MAKE-UP.

The college has recently launched the University Centre Somerset, the Higher Education hub for Somerset. We have been successfully delivering Higher Education degrees at our campuses in Bridgwater, Taunton and Cannington for many years and currently have over 1000 HE students enrolled at the college.

Our Arts Team currently deliver a Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) in Media Make-Up at our Taunton Campus in Somerset, led by the Programme Course Leader, Brodie Nichols. The courses are validated by our University Partner, The Open University.

The successful applicant will be required to start in October 2018, subject to appointment by The Open University (interested applicants must not have had any formal links with Bridgwater College/Somerset College or the Open University within the last five years).  

The applicant must have previous External Examining experience along with relevant academic and/or professional qualifications to at least the level of a BA (Hons) Degree. The applicant should have appropriate expertise to maintain academic standards in the context of Higher Education.

It is a requirement that External Examiners must carry out an interim visit during the academic year, along with attending the Open University Award Board at the college each summer.
