The University of Buckingham is looking to appoint External Reviewers for the panel of the School of Humanities Quinquennial Review. The School require reviewers for each of the following areas:
1. Economics (undergraduate)
2. Politics, International Relations and Security Studies (undergraduate and postgraduate)
3. History – including Biography and Military History (undergraduate, postgraduate and research)
4. History of Art (undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research)
5. English Language and Literature (undergraduate and research)
6. Journalism and Communication Studies (undergraduate)
7. Modern Foreign Languages: French and Spanish (undergraduate)
Panel members are asked to read the reports that have been prepared by the School, and prepare a short written report in advance of the External Panel meeting outlining initial comments and areas of interest for the meeting.
External panel members then come to Buckingham (in August 2018 – date to be agreed) and hold their meeting, which will be chaired by a senior academic from another School of the University. During this time, they can meet with staff if they wish to ask them questions on their reports and seek clarification on any necessary matters. The panel will have the opportunity to consult students from the School of Humanities about their experiences.
Reviewers with experience in quality assurance processes (including programme design, development, approval, assessment and examining, monitoring and review) would be desirable.
The University would pay £300 for this work, plus reasonable expenses.
If you are interested (or to request further information) please send your recent CV to the Quality Assurance Manager Mrs Pearl Slater: [log in to unmask]
