Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology is delighted to be hosting
the Summative Conference to the SWICH programme from Wednesday 11 July
to Friday 13 July 2018 which will be held across a number of venues in
Cambridge including King's College.
SWICH, Sharing a World of Inclusion, Creativity and Heritage, is a
collection of ten European partner museums reflecting on current issues
concerning the role of ethnographic museums within an increasingly
differentiated European society. The focus of this EU-cooperation
project, funded by the Creative Europe programme, lies on central
concerns of visionary ethnographic museum practice within the context of
a post-migrant society.
The Conference, Exhibiting Cultures, Exhibiting Empire, Exhibiting
Europe, is due to start on Wednesday 11 July at 15:30 and will be
followed by an evening drinks reception at 18:00 in the Museum of
Archaeology and Anthropology. There will be a Conference Dinner on
Thursday 12 July and the event will conclude after lunch on Friday 13
July.
Speakers include Arapata Hakiwai (Museum of Te Papa Tongarewa, Aotearoa
New Zealand) and Sharon MacDonald (Humbolt University, Berlin).
Accommodation is available at King's College and can be booked via
online registration.
Further details regarding the Conference content and online registration
are attached to this email.
We look forward to welcoming you to Cambridge.
