Dear Paul,
Thank you for passing this on. I'd be grateful if you could forward to Sally if possible this response.
It is important to create a society that values all individuals and part of that has to be about reducing poverty and creating optimistic paths for children. In general I would sign, however I am not sure it is entirely accurate.. It is absolutely true that we have more and more people in absolute poverty - but over the time of the recession, income inequalities dropped.. see IFS information. So I think you should take this point out, or at least check it. The austerity point doesn't cover all bases either - it might be better to talk specifically about the negative impacts of welfare and benefit changes. But also half of those in poverty are in work. We need to do more to increase working incomes.
Best wishes
Angela

Subject: Open letter re English Government Green Paper on Children and Young People Mental Health
I am passing on this request from a psychologist Colleague, Sally Zlotowitz, asking us to associate ourselves individually with this open letter:
With that in mind, I wanted to let you know about our Psychologists for Social Change open letter to the government in response to the Children and Young People Mental Health Green Paper.
Please see here:

We now have over 1300 signatories and we are still asking for as many people to sign as possible.
Please give this your support if you feel able to.
