Dear Patrick,
while running a batch, SPM will display some information about what is done in the MATLAB command window. The batch system will tell you the name of the batch module it is running. These are defined in the corresponding *cfg*.m file, where you can also find the .prog function handle that is run by the batch system. In many cases, these functions run some "glue" code that extracts input data from the job and determine what computations to do. Then, the actual SPM algorithms will be called. These SPM functions usually print their name and version, and some output along the way. Third party toolboxes may use other conventions, though.
So you may want to
- follow the function handles in the cfg-files
- look for the SPM functions named in the command window
If you don't want to go through all code serially, I would suggest using a recursive full text search through all SPM code (e.g. "grep" outside MATLAB) with a string from the command window output. If this string isn't too generic, there will be usually only a few hits that will guide you directly to the code of interested.
Hope this helps,
Volkmar
