Although this is a general Physics teaching advert, we have a very strong and pioneering Science Partnership at Abingdon School with opportunities to take part in programmes across all school age groups, work with research organisations and contribute to the annual Abingdon ATOM Festival of Science and Technology. We encourage all our science teachers to take part in this and have a full time co-ordinator, who is also a Physics teacher, and a graduate assistant to help run the programme. Here is the teaching post advert:
Abingdon School is currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Physics Department. The department consists of 10 specialist Physics teachers and prides itself on the collaborative and supportive atmosphere between the staff. Physics is a popular subject with nearly 100 students choosing to study it at A-level each year. There is not a specific profile of person in mind for the position but interest is welcome from experienced teachers, final year undergraduates and career changers alike. The main salary range is £27,397 - £51,003 and we have a strong track record of financing and supporting people through their PGCE if they are new to the profession. For more information about the school in general please see the website and for more information on the role please contact the Head of Physics, Ben Simmons ([log in to unmask]) by no later than 18th April.
