Hi Bill,
I like that phrase ' body dishonesty'. Presumably this has some
relation to the current dishonesty being done to death in our media -
as though it was a big surprise (fr pete's sake). And as if there
weren't more important dishonesties to be deeply concerned about.
But yes, that feigning thing. I've never been good at games either,
for various, but that's be one reason.
Cheers,
Jill

Subject:Body dishonesty
Why I’m no good at sport
I’m simply not willing
or able to feign
About 10 y o
when I first noticed this
trying to tackle an 8 y o
in the backyard
Ian made as if
to pick up the footy
hands nowhere near it
when I pinned his arms
Holding the man
it used to be called
Racquet games too
require a big swing
then a look like you’re
going to plant that sucker
in the backhand court
before adjusting
and plonking it short
disguising the shot
the point being
you must pretend
deceive your opponent
physically lie
skills are handy
and stamina
strength and agility
but deception is key
confidence, timing
but ultimately
you must be capable
again and again
of body
dishonesty
which I can’t
sustain
