Dear MeCCSA community
I was wondering if anyone could help me find some archived news coverage for a research project I'm currently working on?
I'm looking into global news representations of the Islamic State and Syria conflict in Al-Jazeera English, BBC News, CNNi and RT (between June 2014 June 2016).
In the first instance I'm looking to get hold of coverage during the Paris attacks for piloting (Nov 13th -19th 2015), but ideally I'd like to get access to the full 2-year corpus of recordings.
So far, the BBC stuff is easy to access, via BoB, and the British Library does have some of the Al-Jazeera, CNNi and RT material, but I've found this difficult to access remotely, and it is also very costly/time-consuming when it comes to requesting digital copies.
Does anyone know of any archives (digital or physical) where I might be able to access this news coverage?
Any help would be appreciated!
Best wishes,
Jared Ahmad - Lecturer in Journalism, Politics and Communication, University of Sheffield, UK
