Service Owner (Digital Selection and Transfer)
What will the future know of today? Archives, as the homes for our collective memories, are in the future business. Your work will ensure that today's digital records are accessible to the next generation of citizens, researchers and historians.
Archives matter. Without records, we could not hold government to account, carry out pioneering research or learn from the past. Whether they are websites, the evidence heard by public inquiries, plans for sporting and cultural events or the decisions of official institutions, the survival of our public records is vital. In this role, you will build relationships across government to ensure that the right records are kept and sent to The National Archives, so that today's digital information can form the publicly accessible archive of tomorrow.
As our Service Owner for Digital Selection and Transfer, you'll drive forward our digital offer to government, developing a high quality service to streamline the process of bringing records into the archive. You will be a strong advocate for effective record-keeping policy, processes and technology, leading a team that's growing, in an organisation that offers great support and exceptional benefits.
About the role

This role is about looking to our future, building strong relationships, harnessing user research and technical innovation and providing the leadership to build and develop our digital services to government. You will lead a small but growing team, sharing your expertise, innovating and mentoring to build capability for The National Archives and across government.
About you
As someone who'll be building an expert team, as well as leading a cross-functional product team, you'll be a natural at inspiring and engaging the people you work with. Your background, confidence in your abilities and passion for digital archives will gain you the respect you'll need to deliver. You'll be a problem solver with strong negotiation skills and a focus on meeting user needs. Most importantly, you'll come with a desire to innovate, challenge what we're doing and drive forward improvements to our service.
