Dear MD community,
Thank you for the strong response of abstracts to our symposium!
I'd like to notify you that the abstract deadline for the " From potential energy surfaces to dynamics and kinetics: a priori theories for combustion, atmospheric and interstellar chemistry " symposium at the Fall 2018 ACS National Meeting has been extended to Monday, March 19. The meeting will be held August 19-23 in Boston, MA.
This symposium will focus on the role of theory in these areas and talks will be scheduled in 6 sessions:
Electronic Structure Theory and Potential Energy Surface Construction
Methods Development for Dynamics and Kinetics, Parts I and II
Applications in Combustion Chemistry
Applications in Atmospheric Chemistry
Applications in Interstellar Chemistry
We also encourage submissions of experimental work with a strong theoretical component or motivation.
Thanks to the financial support we have received from sponsors, we will be offering a limited number of travel awards for graduate students, postdocs, or early career faculty who present their work in our symposium. In addition to submitting an abstract for the meeting, participants requesting support may apply by sending a one-page statement of research interests, including why they would like to attend the symposium, to me ([log in to unmask]) by March 31. We will notify the recipients by the end of April.
Sincerely,
Richard
