SLA Europe is delighted to offer its first conference award for mid-career information professionals in collaboration with the Competitive Intelligence (CI) Division of SLA. The award consists of a contribution of $1000 towards the cost of attending the SLA Annual Conference in Baltimore from 11-13 June 2018.
The SLA 2018 Annual Conference is the premier event for information professionals who want to develop essential skills, network with colleagues, explore noteworthy trends in knowledge and information management, and access leading information product and service providers at the INFO-EXPO. The award is open to information professionals in any field who have been working in the LIS sector for more than 5 years post-qualification. Applicants must be members of SLA and SLA Europe or be prepared to join on winning the award. The successful applicant will be expected to attend the CI Division’s networking event at the conference and to write a post about their conference experience for publication on the websites of the CI Division and SLA Europe.
Applications should be submitted by email to [log in to unmask] and should consist of a CV and a short piece of writing (up to 350 words) detailing what applicants would anticipate getting out of the conference and what the award would mean for them personally and/or professionally. The deadline for applications is 23:59 GMT on 20 March 2018. Applicants will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible after this date.
