Dear Feng,
this is a software issue. It is not intended to switch back from expert to basic mode, because some variables in expert mode don't exist in basic mode and this can cause trouble with batch files.

>Dear CAT experts,
I came across a problem when I use CAT12. Briefly, I use SPM12 (r6670) and CAT12 (version r1278) for my project and type "cat12('expert')" in MATLAB command window. Then, I click the Segment Data button and I could use the expert mode to process my data. Subsequently, I want to make a transition from expert model to the basic model, and thus I click the close button (in the lower right corner) in the cat12 interface, type the "cat12" in MATLAB command window, and click the Segment Data button. However, I also entered into the expert model rather than basic model. Furthermore, I quited and restarted the MATLAB, and retyped "cat12" in MATLAB command window, and finally I entered into the basic model.
I am just wondering how could I deal with this problem? This problem comes from my computer or the software?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Best,
Feng
