Hi Tom,
A couple of suggestions:
We use OpenKiosk http://openkiosk.mozdevgroup.com/ on Windows which is locked down using Group Policies in Active Directory.
Another option is to buy Google Chromebooks/Chromeboxes, which are quite easy to administer once you've got the Google domain set up.
Cheers,

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Kiosk Software in the HE library environment
Hi All,
Does anyone have any experience with using Kiosk software when providing student access to the online catalogue aspect of their LMS?
This type of software enables a workstation/client to be set up and locked down to only be able to access a bespoke list or URLs and Windows Tools.
Any information on vendors, user experiences, products, greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Tom
