Staffordshire University is seeking to appoint a new External Examiner, for their Engineering by Distance Learning Awards from August 2018

 
The awards considered by this EE will all be delivered by distance learning; they are:
 
FD Eng in:
Mechanical Systems Engineering
Aeronautical Systems Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
Engineering Management
General Engineering

BEng in:

Mechanical Systems Engineering
Aeronautical Systems Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
Engineering Management
General Engineering

BSc(Hons) Applied Aviation Studies

Possibly MSc in Airspace Operations and Tactics (will depend on background)

 
We are looking for someone with a good knowledge and understanding of engineering within the Higher Education sector, preferably with experience of the aviation industry. Ideally they should have experience of distance learning awards and understand the needs of students working full time and studying in their spare time. It is essential that the EE is familiar with on-line learning and Virtual Learning Environments (preferably Blackboard) and happy to carry out most activities on-line.

 
Previous experience as an External Examiner is preferred but not essential to the role.

The appointment will be for the four academic years 2018 to 2022, from 1 August 2018

Note that these awards run over 3 terms per year, so work over the summer period will be expected.
