Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Global China and Migration in the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Arts, to commence on June 1, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences and an excellent publication track record preferably in Global China Studies. They should demonstrate achievements of, or potential for, excellence in teaching and research in one or more of the following areas: globalization, migration, demographic studies, personal well-being. Those with a strong background in quantitative methods and big data analysis in social sciences research are preferred. Applicants who are close to completing a Ph.D. degree will also be considered. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as annual leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
