Subject: BS 4971
Hello
I am currently undergoing a detailed ISO9001:2015 audit. As part of this my auditor is keen to understand in great depth TNA Accreditation (which we achieved in November 2016) and the differences between PD5454:2012 and BS 4971.
As I remember in the move from BS5454:2000 to PD5454:2012 one key change was that some of the temperature and humidity parameters were broadened to allow for seasonal change in repositories so long as this was gradual. What I don't know is if BS4971 reversed this or continued the trend although I have seen an indication of it moving more towards required outcomes than precise environmental conditions.
I will try to obtain a copy of BS4971 but like all British Standards it is rather expensive and I don't have a budget for that until at least the new FY.
Would any members be willing to give me an idea of whether there are any key changes in BS4971 that I should have been aware of and any general theme - such as moving from specific parameters to desired outcomes.
Many thanks for any help you can give me!
Catherine
