The Role
The Archive collects preserves and makes accessible the internationally-important collections, which chart the history of the iconic Grade 1 listed building, the business and artists and performances since 1871. 2021 will see the Hall turn 150 years old, and to celebrate we’re planning a whole series of events and activities to celebrate our past, present and future.
As part of the Hall’s commitment to providing public benefit and to support projects to mark our 150th anniversary we are seeking an enthusiastic full time Assistant Archivist to join our team on a three year contract.
Reporting to the Archive Manager, the main responsibility of the post-holder will be ensuring that core daily duties of capturing performance data and ephemera are maintained to a high standard. The post-holder will become adept at utilising a Digital Asset Management System and CALM software to catalogue, record performance information and link data and assets. You will develop a deep knowledge and understanding of the Hall’s history and work as part of a Team to meet key strategic goals and help deliver a high-quality professional archive service of the greatest benefit to the business and its customers.
The Person
Candidates will be qualified to degree level or equivalent with a post-graduate qualification in Archive Management and have knowledge of modern professional standards for archive cataloguing and preservation. Good communication skills, a high level of computer literacy and attention to detail are essential. Experience of using CALM would be advantageous.
