Dear Isle
We do not operate a "self defer" policy and if students miss an examination and wish to be considered for another first attempt they will have to comply with our Extenuating Circumstances Policy and submit documentary evidence.
If a student fails to attend a first attempt - they will have an automatic right to take the exam again but their grade will be capped.
Kind regards
Joanne

Subject: Non-attendance at exam
Dear all
If a student cannot attend an exam for reasons beyond their control, e.g. illness, do they automatically get another opportunity to take it or do they need to ask for this? If they do need to ask, do they need to meet any particular criteria in order to be granted another opportunity?
Thanks in advance for any answers!
