Hi Rebecca
A key date that should be on the ASE calendar is 23 June - International
Women in Engineering Day. See www.inwed.org.uk
INWED is an initiative of the Women's Engineering Society (WES) - since 1919
inspiring and supporting women in engineering. It commemorates the day WES
had its first meeting of the founder members. It celebrates women engineers
and promotes engineering to all, young and old.
You will note our start year: 2019 is our centenary! That this is one year
after Vote100 is no coincidence: WES colours are Green White Violet as for
the Suffragettes and our founders included women who were active in not only
in marching for rights for women, but also set up training for women and
called for equal access to professional roles.
In 2019, WES will be celebrating with our members, remembering our past, and
changing the future.
So INWED2019 will be BIG.
Thanks all!
Sarah

Subject: [PSCI-COM] 2018 ASE Wall planner
Hi there,
Just a quick reminder about dates of interest to secondary science teachers
I am putting together the 2018 Association for Science Education wall
planner, which is distributed to named Heads of Science and Science
Technicians in all secondary schools in the UK, plus all secondary ASE
members.
The calendar, running from September 1st 2018 to 31st August 2019, is
overprinted with relevant dates - deadlines for competitions, festivals and
events etc.
If you have a date that youd like to have added, please could you email me
asap and well do our very best to include it!
I look forward to hearing from you.
With best wishes,
Rebecca
