EUMETSAT, the European meteorological satellite agency, is recruiting an Instrument Data Processing Team Leader. Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, we observe the atmosphere, ocean, and land surfaces from space using a system of satellites 365 days a year. Our data is vital for weather forecasts that help to protect lives and property, as well as monitoring the environment and our changing climate.
Do you have what it takes to manage a small team processing Level 0/Level 1 data gathered by our satellites? You will have extensive knowledge of instrument data processing, including Image Navigation and Registration (INR), radiometric correction and calibration algorithms, gained in an operational Space environment. You will manage a small team ensuring that our data processing operations are co-ordinated to meet our current and future needs. You need to be comfortable validating complex data and using UNIX/LINUX in a fast paced environment. As you will be involved in producing and updating procedures and guidance, you need to be able to write concise and focused technical reports. You should be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to explain complex issues in a straightforward way.
