Good Morning
In my opinion it may be thought that the turnan is offering as much safety as a safety hat.
If hearing tests are statutory and required for health surveillance noise protection the in my opinion if the test cannot be performed for whatever reason the employee should not be placed at risk. Even if this means losing is job.
However with safety critical which is not statutory and he passed the whisper test that should be enough
It will be interesting to hear other thoughts on this.

We have recently on site a 3rd party provider undertaking safety critical worker medical. employee advised he cannot remove his turban due to religious reasons therefore the technician was unable to do a hearing test. Whisper test was undertaken instead. I know that those wearing turbans are exempt from wearing hard hats but have never come across this is with hearing tests. I would be grateful to hear any thoughts and advice on the matter and if anyone has had similar in the past with any better outcome other than a whisper test. Thanks in advance
