What is unique about our programmes?
* The Institute of Gerontology is a research-led, interdisciplinary social science department directed by internationally recognised scholars
* The programmes draw on a wide range of professional and disciplinary expertise and experience including geriatrics, demography, policy analysis and sociology, providing education at the cutting edge of current research into ageing and later life.
* We are linked with King’s Health Partners, one of only six Academic Health Sciences Centres in England bringing together three NHS Trusts (Guy’s and St. Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, and South London and Maudsley).
* We are in the heart of London, with immediate access to King’s hospitals and laboratories, government and health policy think-tanks, patient advocacy groups, medical and scientific societies, the private health sector, and more
* We deliver rigorous training in quantitative and qualitative research methods and critical policy research
* We provide internship opportunities that allow students to gain practical insights and to build professional networks
* We offer a fantastic programme of co-curricular activities and unique networking opportunities, including the Age UK Annual lecture, the GHSM London Medical Excursion, and the departmental seminar series
