Lisa,
As a Library service we support APA 6th. It's not strongly mandated- departments can use whatever system they want- but APA 6th is the 'Officially Supported' style.

Pete

Subject: Mandated referencing styles
Good morning all,
I'm interesting in discovering if any UK universities currently mandate a referencing style (or styles) to students across their institution. If your institution does mandate a specific referencing style, rather than a recommendation, I'd be grateful if you could let me know which style. To let you know our position at the University of Wolverhampton, we currently recommend our institutional version of Harvard, with a number of other styles for specific subject areas, e.g. OSCOLA for law.
Many thanks in advance.
