The forthcoming UK Chapter meeting of the Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA) group, will be held In Edinburgh in October 2018 (on the 26th and 27th). Your friendly neighbourhood organising committee would like any digital classicists involved in archaeology to consider submitting a paper or poster to the event.
We are after submissions on the general topics of quantitative methods and computer applications in heritage. Topics that could be covered include:
· Archaeogaming
· Data management
· Geophysics & Remote sensing
· GIS & Geospatial Analysis
· Integration of scientific and theoretical methods in computing
· Photogrammetry & 3D Recording
· Public Engagement
· Semantic web
· Social media
· Simulations
· Statistical methods
· Visualisation & 3D modelling
· Visualisation & Mixed Reality in Archaeology
· Website development in the heritage sector
Please note that this list is not exhaustive and we will consider submissions on any relevant topics that might interest a CAA-UK audience.
Abstracts should be sent to [log in to unmask] by the 23rd February 2018, although expressions of interest, informal chats and questions are obviously welcome before that date!
