Has your archive service been invited to take part in The National Archives' Accessions to Repositories 2017 survey? If so, all contributing archives have until 1st February 2018 to submit their returns.
Contributing to the Accessions survey
To find out more about completing the survey and to download the 2017 template and associated guidance, please visit our website.
You will also find our report analysing the accessions data we received from archives in 2016 here too.
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/projects-and-programmes/accessions/
Contributors are asked to complete the 2017 template and send it to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by 1st February 2018.
The survey provides a vital knowledge base for The National Archives' work with the wider sector.
The information gathered allows us to:
* extend Discovery's coverage of other archives' records http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/
* track documents and records identified as part of our Sales Monitoring Service http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/advice-and-guidance/managing-your-collection/cultural-property/
* monitor public records and manorial document transfers
* analyse collecting patterns and trends

New burdens online survey
We are still awaiting responses from a number of Places of Deposit to our survey of expenditure of New Burdens funding, as requested with this year's call for accessions returns.
In accordance with the notification of eligibility sent to places of deposit which have received funding, we require this information to be supplied for audit and reporting purposes. It will also help us to identify any problems or issues which PoDs may have had in using the funding.
If your service is a place of deposit and received New Burdens funding in respect of accessions of public records during the 2015 and 2016 calendar years, please ensure that you complete the survey at the following link by the accessions deadline if you have not already done so:
