Hi everyone,
We have a job opportunity at the BFI, helping to provide system management and user support within the Collections and Information department, which includes the BFI National Archive, BFI Reuben Library and Documentation teams.
Details here: https://bfijobsandopportunities.bfi.org.uk/jobspecs/1501CollectionsSystemsSpecialist.pdf
The role is based at the BFI's Conservation Centre in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, with regular reimbursed travel to our central London site. It will help the Collections Systems Manager to run and develop two sets of systems. The first set is our Adlib Collections Information Database with its associated online search portals, archive Workflow management system, barcode scanning infrastructure, and APIs for delivery of collections data to internal and external systems (for example the BFI Player, the BFI Filmoraphy, the new Mediatheque in BFI Southbank).
The second set is our integrated Digital Preservation Infrastructure, which is made up of Imagen Web Media Asset Management, Spectra Logic Black Pearl and two T950 data tape libraries, Dell EMC Isilon NAS.
User support is a major part of the role, as these systems are utilised by all members of the BFI's Collections and Information department and many stakeholders across the BFI. We use Jira to manage system issue reporting and tracking, and Confluence as the systems knowledge base - manuals, step-by-step guides, overviews, etc
The requirements are on the job pack at that link above, and the closing date is 4th February.
Please pass this on to anyone in your network that you think may be interested.
All the best,
Stephen,
Head of Data,
Collections & Information,
BFI
