The African Studies Association of the UK is reminding us about the
submission deadline for abstracts for the conference being held in
September 2018; see full details below and note the date of *16 February*.
The ethnographic journal 'Africa'/IAI are convening a stream at the
conference; see details here:
http://www.asauk.net/stream-90-years-of-the-international-african-institute/
There will likely be 4 panels - those listed, as organised by Peter
Geschiere et al (on 'erotic transgressions'), Deborah James (on 'Work,
Wealth and Welfare'), and Wale Adebanwi (on the 'Postcolony'). There will
also be a panel (not yet listed) on religion.
Please do consider submitting abstracts to all these sessions or to other
streams in the conference, and encourage suitable colleagues and research
students to do the same.
Best wishes,
Stephanie

Subject: Submission deadline and bursary application available.
To:
Dear stream organisers,
I hope everybody is well and has kick-started their new year, I’m wishing
you all the best for it.
The deadline for submissions, *16 February 2018*, is fast approaching , we
are reminding people via mailing lists, social media and other specialized
sites. But please make sure you all talk to your personal networks
respectively, this is far more effective than bulk emails!
Also, I would like to remind you all that stream organisers will be able to
put forward applicants for the bursaries. More information on the bursaries
and how to apply as a candidate is now available on the website (
http://www.asauk.net/asauk-2018-bursaries/).
I will send you more details on how to put forward a candidate in due
course.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
All the best,
