El Instituto de Estudios del Caribe (IEC), de la Facultad de Ciencias
Sociales, de la Universidad de Puerto Rico-Recinto de Río Piedras (UPR-RP),
se complace en anunciar la apertura de convocatorias para el programa de
Investigadores Visitantes.   Durante los pasados  10 años nos han visitado
más de 60 de investigadores. Para detalles puede visitar el siguiente

La misión del programa es desarrollar vínculos y ofrecer apoyo a
estudiantes graduados y profesores de instituciones académicas para que
lleven a cabo experiencias de investigación sobre la región del Gran Caribe.

 Los objetivos del programa son:

   - Apoyar a estudiantes graduados que estén matriculados en tesis o
   disertación cuyo tema de interés esté vinculado con el Caribe.
   - Desarrollar un circuito de movilidad de profesores visitantes de
   universidades acreditadas para que lleven a cabo experiencias de
   investigación sobre el Caribe.
   - Estimular la creación vínculos entre estudiantes graduados  y
   profesores universitarios  de la UPR que puedan fungir como mentores de
   tesis o disertación.

 El IEC provee espacio de oficina o escritorio (según disponibilidad),
acceso a las colecciones del Sistema de Bibliotecas de la UPR, computadora
de escritorio y conexión al sistema inalámbrico de la UPR-RP y fotocopias
limitadas.

Favor de notar: El IEC no ofrece ningún apoyo económico ni hace gestiones
de obtención de visa.  El programa está disponible todo el año con la
excepción del periodo de vacaciones navideñas.

The Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS), Faculty of Social Sciences,
University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras(UPR-RP), is pleased to announce its
call for the Visiting Scholar programme. In the past 10  years more than 60
researchers and scholars have participated in the programme. For details

The mission of the programme is to develop relationships with and provide
assistance to graduate students and scholars in their research projects
about the Greater Caribbean region.

The goals of the program are as follows:

   - To support graduate students enrolled in their thesis or dissertation
   projects dealing with the Caribbean region;
   - To develop a circuit of mobility among visiting professors of
   accredited universities in their research projects about the Caribbean;
   - To promote relationships of graduate students with UPR professors who
   may serve as mentors.

The ICS will provide office or desk space (as available), access to the
collections of the UPR Library System, desktop computer and connection to
UPR-RP wireless service, and a limited number of photocopies.

Please note: The ICS does not provide any financial assistance and cannot
assist with the granting of a visa. The program is available the entire
year with the exceptions the Christmas holidays.
