PLEASE FORWARD TO UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
The Developing Areas Research Group (DARG Royal Geographical Society-IBG) will run their annual Undergraduate dissertation workshop for students interested in doing fieldwork in the Global South.
Attendees will hear from world leading researchers, including Prof David Hulme (Global Development Institute, University of Manchester), Dr. Kate McLean (Geography, Birkbeck, University of London), and Dr. Rubina Jasani (Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute, University of Manchester).
The event will also give students the opportunity to find out about the ‘nitty gritty’ related to the logistics of preparing for the ‘field’. There will also be mini workshops focusing on key issues: ‘Mental health in the field’; ‘Ethics in development research’; and ‘Translation’. These workshops will also be led by researchers, working in the 'global south'.
This is an event not to be missed as it will give students the opportunity to think through their own dissertation.
Wednesday January 24th at the University of Manchester.
Places are limited! There is a £10 registration fee.
