Are you interested in medical research that matters to patients and the NHS?
Our PhD programme presents a unique opportunity to undertake training in the UK in trials methodology research.
Projects are available at locations across the UK for candidates in various areas including those suitable for statisticians, mathematicians, health economists, qualitative researchers, epidemiologists, psychologists, social scientists, health service researchers, and candidates with appropriate qualifications currently working in trials.

What’s included?
Funding is available to support PhD study for three years and offers an enhanced level of training support including:
An enhanced student stipend of £19,726 per year for projects in London or £17,726 per year for projects elsewhere.
Tuition fees at RCUK level
contribution to research and training costs
Free attendance to the International Clinical Trials Methodology Conferences
Membership of a UK Network of students, clinicians, researchers and trialists, to gain transferable skills and attend training events and annual meetings
The candidate must commence the PhD studentship no later than March 2018.
