The School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice at
University College Dublin seeks to recruit one or more lecturer(s)/
assistant professor(s) or associate professor(s) in social policy.
The successful candidate(s) will join the School’s team of innovative,
energetic and highly research active social policy academics and have
the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues working in the social
work and social justice subject areas. S/he will contribute to further
developing our record of social policy research, PhD student supervision
and teaching on Ireland’s oldest and largest social policy degree – the
B.Soc.Sc (social policy and sociology) and on the Master of Public
Policy (MPP) programme. Details of our School, research and programmes

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of
researching and/or teaching in one or more of the following social
policy fields:
- Irish social policy
- Comparative social policy
- Poverty and income maintenance policy
- Welfare state theory
- Family policy
- Social policy research
- Health policy
- Welfare State Futures
- Public economics/ welfare state economics.
These are permanent and pensionable posts and the appointments will be
made on the following salary scales:
Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €51,807-
€79,194 pa
Associate Professor Salary Scale: €66,155- €91,265 pa.
