We are looking for another team member. The profile of this position is about ca. 50% each in:
- Helping us communicate a large science communication research project with partners from Africa, Asia, and Europe.
- Teaching support in our 3,5-year Science Communication programme, including co-supervision of theses and projects
The deadline for this vacancy is 29th November; 'e-mail first' is perfectly fine. >> http://bit.ly/SCR-17-10
This position does not require a completed PhD since we are primarily looking for pertinent work experience, ideally both inside and outside of academia, combined with a good expertise in social science research methods, both qualitative and quantitative. We expect a very high level of English language skills from our applicants, at least on CEFR-C1 level. No need whatsoever to speak any German when applying.
Despite the fact that the contract is limited to ca. 1.5 years, at least half of the position can technically be considered to be permanent (tenure / 'Planstelle'). The pay scheme (TVL-11) is comparable to what a PhD student would usually get (while this is a 100% full-time position), i.e. a bit less than the TVL-13 Postdoc positions we usually advertise.
Rhine-Waal is Germany's first fully international public university. All of the degree programmes in our faculty are in English. 80% of our
students are international. This diversity also guides our approach in research and teaching: being comparative about the different systems of
science, media, and policy.
Our campus is located in the heart of Europe, right on the border between The Netherlands and Germany, half-way between Amsterdam and
Cologne, or Brussels and Munster, at the foot of Cleves castle. Living expenses are maybe 50% compared to London.
