British Library: Dos and Don’ts
Do:
* please report to the staff at the desk in the front hall at the agreed time. Unfortunately, there won’t be an opportunity to pick up any late comers on a Saturday
* carry your visitor’s pass visibly and hand it back in at the end (you will be provided with a pass on entry)
* wash your hands before the session, preferably in the public restrooms on the Lower Ground Floor. You will be allowed to handle items on display, but only with clean hands (we don’t do gloves)
* take photos of the items on display for your own use (see below)
* ask as many questions as you wish. This is an interactive workshop and your best chance to find out all about the BL’s collections and services
Don’t:
* take any food or drink into the room. Bottled drinks are allowed, but please have your drink well away from the items on display
* wander off on your own. Even when going to the ladies/gents you must be accompanied at all times by a member of staff
* post any photographs you take of collection items onto your social media platforms. Not all items will be out of copyright and I’m sure you’ll appreciate we as national library don’t want to be seen to be breaking any copyright rules.
