Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of defining some ambitions for the BFI's collections search and BFI Filmography websites, in terms of development, investment, social promotion, etc
I'm outside my expertise with this, and I will aim to engage my colleagues in the BFI web dept for advice, but before I do that I'm keen to learn what our MCG peers approach this.
So I'm interested in accessing any published collections search web traffic data from other collecting organisations, to give a very approximate benchmark for what is reasonable to expect in our sector.
Does anyone know of any published Google Analytics or other data from any collecting organisations, which could help?
Alternatively, wold anyone be willing to share privately (or publicly) a summary of such traffic to their own collections search site?
I'm thinking of broad stats like number of users / sessions per annum, % breakdown of acquisition channels (direct, social, organic search, referral, email, etc), page views / time on page / bounce rate - and finally % breakdown by device (desktop, tablet, mobile).
If private sharing is preferred, I'd be happy to sign an NDA or anything else needed for comfort!
Actually it would be also interesting to learn if there are standards or de facto standards about which Google Analytics properties our kind of organisations use for analysis of collections search traffic / KPI definitions. Is such a thing already published? Or again, would people be willing to share the points they use in reporting?
Cheers,
Stephen
