Good morning,
GDPR is due to come into effect in the UK from 25th May 2018 and will replace the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. There is more information about it here:
https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/data-protection-reform/overview-of-the-gdpr/
I'm in the process of gathering information about any personal data held or managed by my team, e.g. groups of files, network files/sub-folders, mailbox folders, databases, spreadsheets, mailing lists, cloud-stored documents, CRMs, paper files, portable devices, data held by 3rd parties on behalf of the Library, etc.
My understanding of the data in the All User Profiles report is that it is always retained on Aspire, even if a student or staff member may have left the institution. Once a profile is created, it remains there (forever?) and there isn't any way for the managing institution to delete that data. Is this correct? I can't see any way for system administrators to delete, either in bulk or individually, a User Profile.
Has anyone else begun to address this yet?
Thanks,
Kevin
