Dear Historian
We would like to inform you, if you have not already heard, that Trevor Dann has produced a radio documentary that you may enjoy listening to. It’s going out on all 40 LR stations on Sunday 5th November at 12 noon. This is the link to the Norfolk website as an example

Presented by David Lloyd, the programme features Robert McLeish and Dr Matthew Linfoot, both of whom will be participating in our forthcoming Symposium on Saturday 18th November. Dr Linfoot is actually our host on the day. Here is a link to a previous article he published about BBC Local Radio. http://www.bbc.co.uk/historyofthebbc/research/general/local-radio
We would be delighted to have you join us at the University of Westminster, Regent Street Campus, on the 18th November, to share in our discussions and to network with others interested in the history of the BBC and local broadcasting. Tickets for the conference are £25, and this includes refreshments and lunch.
Amongst our speakers are: Dr Tony Stoller, former Chief Executive of the Radio Authority and Chair of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, and author of 'Sounds of Your Life'; Richard Rudin, a Senior Lecturer in Journalism at Liverpool John Moores University, author of 'Broadcasting in the 21st Century'; Charles Runcie, former Head of Sport, English Regions from 2002-16, and launch editor at both Radio 5 Live and www.bbc.co.uk/sport; and Jane Wood, freelance editor and writer, co-leading 'Revealing Voices', a Heritage Lottery Fund project to digitise, catalogue and make publicly accessible at least 440 archive reel-to-reel tapes from the collection of Arthur Wood (d.2005), Education Producer at BBC Radio Stoke in the 1970s and 80s.
Our Headline Panel, chaired by Trevor Dann comprises: Helen Boaden, Robert McLeish and Mark Norman in a discussion about the legacy of local radio.
