I'd like to draw your attention to this free event at Senate House Library on 16th November. All are welcome.
Thursday 16 November 2017, 18:00 - 20:00
Seng Tee Lee Seminar Room, Senate House Library
Join us for the first in a series of Annual Lectures presented by the Friends of Senate House Library.
In the first event in the series, Elizabeth Danbury will give the lecture, focusing on the decorated charters of Captain A.W.F. (Walter) Fuller.
Captain A.W.F. (Walter) Fuller's interest and lifelong commitment as a collector of historical objects ranging from ethnographic objects connected with Pacific islands to ninth-century Anglo-Saxon brooches, European charters and wax seals have enriched museums and libraries in Chicago, Hawai’i and London.
This lecture will briefly survey his life’s work, concentrating on a study of some of the 2,000 European charters and seals given in 1965 in his memory by his widow, Estelle, to the Special Collections Library in Senate House Library.
