Hi Theresa
Our EBME also requested that all meters go on their inventory as they come under medical devices, but they did not want the docks to be on their systems as they are 'chargers'. EBME have registered all meters on their asset inventory under 'Pathology' and we use the middleware to trace where they are. We have logged the docks on iPassport. We raise a job for a meter to be removed from the inventory if we need to return it to the supplier. It does mean new meters are a nuisance as we have to wait for EBME to asset them for us. I believe there is no consistency between Trusts as to whether EBME are involved. I would have found it easier to log everything ourselves, but EBME wanted oversight of the meters. When we roll-out the non-connected meters for community, they will be entered on EBME's system with serial numbers only, but will not be issued an asset number. There is the argument that they are not actually our assets as they are on a reagent rental contract, but I have gone along with their preferred method.
Best wishes
Michelle

We rely on our middleware currently too. However EME are not happy with this. Judging on the replies so far I suspect I am going to have to tag them all and log on the EME system.
Would appreciate any other responses.
Thanks.
Theresa.
