Afternoon all,
I have a query about the retention of training records, in particular:
1 Employee training records
2 Training attendance registers (original & electronic)
We generally keep staff training records for 6 years after they've left the organisation, and training attendance registers for 6 years from the date of the training.
There have been occasions where the original training register has been used to prove that someone has / hasn’t attended the training, so we are considering if there should be longer retention periods for certain types of training records, e.g. health and safety, adoptions, safeguarding, working with heavy machinery or hazardous materials, etc.
I’d be interested to hear from organisations who apply longer retention periods to training records and for which courses.
Many thanks,
Mark
